On 26., 27. and 28. August 2011, Michael Sanderling conducts his inaugural concerts as the new chief conductor of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, presenting works by Gabriel Fauré (Pelléas et Mélisande), Peter Tchaikovsky (Capriccio Italien) and Sergei Prokofiev (scenes from the ballet "Romeo and Juliet"). He succeeds Rafael Frühbeck des Burgos.
