Lars Ranch & The Swinging Brass

LARS RANCH & THE SWINGING BRASS was founded in the 80s by trumpet player Lars Ranch in his home city Copenhaguen. His examples were the biggest worldwide band leaders: Harry James, Maynard Ferguson, Doc Severinsen, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Kurt Edelhagen, Paul Kuhn, James Last, Walter Scholz and naturally Horst Fischer. Swinging Brass feels at home with different music stlyes. For this ensemble there is no division between light and serious music. The musicians of German Brass do not depend on the labelling, because they have fun with several music styles: swing, blues, latin, classic…All members play in German top orchestras and bigbands, what allows for a unique programm with multiple facets: Las-Vegas-Show, Ballroom-orchestra, ball-orchestra with virtuous pieces like "Carnival in Venice", "Buglers Holiday", "Flight of the Bumblebee", "Beatles", "Penny Lane",  "Theme from Rocky" and many others.

Bandleader Lars Ranch was instructed by Prof. Pierre Thibaud in Paris. In his carreer beyond classical music he has played jazz, pop, show, rock, and performed as leader trumpet player in the big bands of Thad Jones, Bob Mintzer and Bob Burgess. Since 1994 he is solo trumpet player of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin.
